Recovery and separation of platinum group metals and rare earth elements from spent automotive catalytic converters

PlatILPlus is an FCT-funded research project that aims to develop eco-friendly yet readily applicable methodologies for the valorization of Spent Automotive Catalytic Converters (SACC) through hydrometallurgical processes. The project focuses on the recovery and separation of Platinum Group Metals (PGM) and Rare Earth Elements (REE) to reduce environmental waste production and convert these materials into valuable raw resources.
