From June 3 to 6, 2025, researchers Dr. Filipe Sosa and Prof. João A. P. Coutinho attended the 1st International Symposium on Deep Eutectic Solvents (ISYDES 2025) in Bari, Italy. The symposium brings together experts in deep eutectic solvents (DES) to explore their role in advancing green and sustainable chemistry. Dr. Filipe is presenting research focused on predicting the melting behavior of salt mixtures, with applications in the recovery of precious metals from spent catalytic converters — contributing to the development of cleaner and more efficient processes for resource recovery.
